BIOGRAPHY

작가 백정록는 1993년 부산 출생으로 현실에서 마주한 불안하고 어두웠던 감정과 기억을 어둡지만 희망적으로 화면으로 옮긴다. 

코로나 이전 작업에서는 환생이라는 주제를 가지고 동물이나 인물이 환생을 통해 삶을 순환하는 모습을 담았다, 침묵의 밤이라는 작품에서는 어두운 밤이 오기전 세상의 존재를 의미하는 두여성이 태어나기 직전의 토끼인 작은 생명의 입을 실로 침묵시키는 모습을 그렸다. 그림의 토끼는 처음 사회를 접하는 아이들일수도 있고 코로나 시기에 침묵했던 이들의 모습일수도 있다. 어두운 배경 속 은초롱꽃은 희망적 요소이며 불안한 시기를 지나 행복이 찾아올수도 있다는 점을 보여준다. 코로나 이후의 작품속에서는 존재들이 삶 속에서 동반하는 모습을 통해 공생하는 의미와 위로감을 전달한다.

Artist Baek Jeong Rok was born in Busan in 1993 and transfers the anxious and dark emotions and memories encountered in reality to the screen in a dark but hopeful way. In the work before the COVID-19, there was a theme of reincarnation, and animals or characters cycled through life through reincarnation. He drew a picture of silencing the mouth of life with threads. The rabbits in the picture may be children who are new to society, or they may be those who were silent during the COVID-19 era. Silver bellflowers in a dark background are a hopeful element and show that happiness can come after an anxious period. In post-COVID-19 works, the meaning and comfort of coexistence is conveyed through the way beings accompany each other in life.
